Lewis Hamilton maintained the momentum from his German Grand Prix win to set the quickest lap of first practice for the Hungarian GP.

Hamilton’s quickest lap was heavily impeded when he came up behind a slower Jaime Alguersuari in the final sector, but the McLaren driver still managed to go P1.

He was closely followed by Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel, just two-tenths behind. His teammate, Mark Webber, finished fourth, behind Fernando Alonso, but swiped the wall and lost his front-nose after losing control of the rear.

Bruno Senna made his debut in the Renault R31 and impressed with a lap of 1:25.855, just eight-tenths slower than the more experienced Vitaly Petrov.
