Force India team owner and principal Vijay Mallya says he is no rush to announce the teams driver line-up for the 2012 season.
The Silverstone-based outfit currently lies in seventh position, 15-points below Sauber in the Constructors’ Championship, but are making good progress with Adrian Sutil managing sixth at last weekend’s German Grand Prix.
The German currently has 18 points to his name, whilst Paul di Resta, who has seemingly done well on Saturday, but struggled during the race, has just two.
However, many in the paddock believe Sutil could leave the team at the end of the season, whilst Di Resta has been linked with a move to Mercedes if Michael Schumacher decides against his third-year option at the manufacturer outfit.
Mallya though, says it’s too early to think about next years line-up, with just ten races having been and gone, nine still remain and the Indian billionaire wants his drivers to focus on racing, rather than speculating about their contracts.
“It is way too early [to talk 2012]. I will announce my driver line-up around December 15th,” he revealed to the official F1 website. “Not before that.
“I want all my guys to focus on the job at hand and not start speculating about their future. I made it very clear that I will make my decision around December 15th.”
