Sauber driver Sergio Perez will test the 2009 Ferrari car later this year, the Italian outfit has confirmed.
The Mexican driver is part of Ferrari’s driver academy and will join GP2 driver Jules Bianchi in September to test the F60.
“We will be back on track in September, at Mugello or Fiorano,” said FDA director Luca Baldisserri. “It will be a very interesting test, because we will be putting Jules Bianchi and Sergio Perez up against one another.
“I think they will both be very motivated and for us it will be the perfect opportunity to assess both drivers.”
Perez is seen as a future driver for the Ferrari outfit with many believing his seat at Sauber was influenced by the engine deal between the two teams.
