Ferrari will be celebrating their 60th anniversary of their first ever win in Formula 1, which took place at Silverstone in 1951.
The Argentinian driver, Jose Froilan Gonzalez, took just two wins during his nine year F1 career. The two wins both came at the British GP with Ferrari, three years apart.
Fernando Alonso will lap the Silverstone circuit on Sunday in his Ferrari 375, the very car used to power Gonzalez to victory in 1951.
The 88-year-old had hoped to attend, but couldn’t travel for medical reasons. He doesn’t know his car, which is now owned by Bernie Ecclestone, will be a feature of the event.
The above images show Michael Schumacher driving the very same car in 2001.
