FP3: Vettel proves he’s still the one to beat

Sebastian Vettel showed the Red Bull is still the car to beat by setting the quickest lap of the weekend so far on a finally dry Silverstone track.

The German went +0.063 quicker than Alonso on his very last lap, a 1:31.401, pushing the Spaniard off the top spot.

Mark Webber helped cement the RB7’s dominant performance by securing third despite sitting out much of the session due to an engine issue.

The session was fairly uneventful as the teams aimed to collect some technical data on their updates due to the limited running on Friday courtesy of the weather.
