China’s Shanghai International Circuit has passed the FIA’s latest inspection which enables the organisers to apply for a new race license.
The circuit had come under scrutiny by the governing body after they highlighted drainage and surface issues around the track. Until those issues were remedied, the races place on the calendar wasn’t guaranteed.
A new permit has now been signed and the race will go ahead as planned on the 17th April. It will be the third round of the F1 season after the cancellation of Bahrain.
