Ross Brawn’s decision to rescue hundreds of jobs and the Honda Formula One team, have netted him over £100 million.
The former Ferrari and Honda team principal bought the team from Honda for just £1 in a management buyout with Nick Fry. The team was later renamed Brawn GP and went onto win both world titles during the 2009 season.
A majority stake in the team was later sold to Daimler/Mercedes and Aarbar investments at the end of ’09, with the team becoming Mercedes GP.
Earlier this month, it was announced that the aforementioned companies had acquired the remaining 24.9% stake from Brawn and Fry.
The 100% sale has in total netted the latter around £56m, whilst Brawn pocketed an eye-watering £100m.
