Jarvis leads at Daytona after strong start, Keating dominates LMP2

Ryan Briscoe is leading the Rolex 24 at Daytona for Wayne Taylor Racing with four hours remaining, despite a major shakeup thanks to a number of cautions and penalties.

The #10 Konica Minolta Cadillac DPi-VR was holding onto a comfortable lead until the #74 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Felipe Fraga came to a halt on track, bringing out a caution. Under that caution, Ryan Briscoe pitted the leading Cadillac, but ran a red light on pit exit, handing him a 60 second stop-and-hold penalty, dropping him down the order and handing the lead to the #5 Mustang Sampling Cadillac of Loic Duval.

Thanks to a second caution soon afterwards caused by the #19 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo of Christina Nielsen catching fire on the oval, Briscoe was able to get back on the lead lap and climbed into second position behind Barbosa, who has taken over from Duval. Harry Tincknell sits in third in the #55 Mazda RT24-P, with Olivier Pla in fourth in the #77 Mazda.

Briscoe was then able to regain the lead on the pit stop cycle, completing a remarkable comeback. The #31 Whelen Engineering Cadillac is meanwhile out of contention after spending time behind the wall with a possible gearbox issue.

PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports has lost the lead in LMP2 after holding it for the vast majority of the race thanks to a toe link issue that cost several laps. Harrison Newey currently leads in the #81 Dragonspeed ORECA 07-Gibson with former leader Simon Trummer second in the #52 ORECA.

The intense battle in GTLM between Porsche and BMW continues to rage, with BMW striking back after losing time due to an unscheduled brake pad replacement, but the #24 BMW M8 GTE was able to regain the lead after the second restart, but has since been repassed by the #912 Porsche 911 RSR-19 of Mathieu Jaminet in a fierce battle for position, before swapping positions again and Jaminet retaking the lead at the very end of the hour.

Fred Makowiecki sits in third in the #911 Porsche, under heavy pressure from the #3 Corvette C8.R of Nicky Catsburg.

Audi and Lamborghini battle away for supremacy in GTD, with Dries Vanthoor briefly taking the lead in the #88 Team WRT Speedstar Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo, but it has since returned to the hands of Corey Lewis in the #48 Paul Miller Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo, which has been a front runner all race long. Spencer Pumpelly is third in the #44 GRT Magnus Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo.

Precision Performance Motorsports, another Lamborghini runner, was less fortunate, bringing out a third consecutive caution when Johnathan Hoggard brought the #47 car to a halt on the infield.
