Elfyn Evans entered the penultimate stage of Rally Chile in P2 overall with a growing cushion of 6.3 seconds over the fast-charging Sebastien Ogier who had closed his deficit to second overall to just 0.3 seconds on Saturday.
11.5km into SS15, the GR Yaris pulled up, and the crew set about changing a left front tyre. 2:14.8 was lost, as was his second overall and the lead in the Super Sunday standings.
“No idea [where I picked up the puncture] but is that any surprise,” says a clearly frustrated Evans.
