Marc Marquez led from the first corner to the chequered flag as he completed a dominant MotoGP sprint victory in Misano.
Marquez made the decisive move at the very first corner, overtaking polesitter Marco Bezzecchi and remaining in complete control after getting into the lead.
Although Marquez was unable to shake the challenge of Bezzecchi, a victory for the Ducati rider never looked in doubt as he kept the gap manageable, despite it being under a second.
As the leading duo attempted to break away, Martin began setting fastest laps of the race in fourth behind Fabio Di Giannantonio after both riders passed Fermin Aldeguer on the start. However, it took until Lap 7 for the championship leader to finally get past the Italian and into third.
Further behind, former junior rivals Pedro Acosta and Fermin Aldeguer started battling over fifth position. Both riders made errors and forced each other wide which allowed Alex Marquez on the other Gresini to sweep through and take fifth. Acosta finally passed Aldeguer, while an audacious move from Raul Fernandez further relegated Aldeguer to eighth.
Despite a few laps of Bezzecchi closing in, Marquez set the fastest lap of the race and extended his advantage at the front to claim sprint victory at Misano.
Bezzecchi settled into second after getting close to Marquez in the final few laps, with Martin completing the podium in third.
Di Giannantonio took fourth at the flag as Alex Marquez rounded out the top five ahead of Acosta, Fernandez and Aldeguer, while Luca Marini took the final point in ninth.
Johann Zarco completed the top 10 ahead of team-mate Diogo Moreira, with Franco Morbidelli taking 12th ahead of a struggling Francesco Bagnaia in 13th.
Enea Bastianini finished 14th ahead of fellow KTM riders Brad Binder and Pol Espargaro, while Toprak Razgatlioglu was top Yamaha in 17th.
Alex Rins took the flag in 18th ahead of Jack Miller in 19th, as Joan Mir finished 20th.
Fabio Quartararo crashed after making contact with Moreira on Lap 2 and completed the standings in 21st.
