In a strikingly candid Instagram post, MotoGP rider Marc Márquez put an end to the comments surrounding his physical condition ahead of the race weekend at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.
Ever since Márquez’s disastrous 2020 crash in Jerez, his repeatedly injured right arm has been the bane of his existence.
Although it didn’t stop him from securing a sensational ninth world title in 2025, a subsequent crash caused by Marco Bezzecchi in Indonesia served up a new set of physical hurdles for the champion.
The photo Márquez shared lays bare the consequences of years of injuries and surgeries, displaying a right arm visibly altered compared to his left. Ahead of the San Marino GP, the Cervera native explained his decision to post it, coming shortly after he admitted to having “no control” over his right arm during the British GP.

“I was a bit tired of answering the same question,” Márquez explained. “I learned in my career that when you have speculation, the easiest way to put it to rest is to try and be honest. That is why I decided to publish this picture. My doctor also spoke about it and how much it affected the injury. Now, I don’t have anything to add. I can fully focus to try and fight for the championship.”
He added: “The question of my arm was taking energy away from me. To fight for this championship, I needed to be able to fully focus on racing. Now, I’m more relaxed, and when I am questioned about my arm, I can say that I already answered.”
“It was my idea. My team gives me feedback, but it’s something very personal.
“This is the state of my physical condition. I still enjoy racing,” Márquez insisted. “I still feel competitive, I try and do my maximum every year.”
Though the nine-time champion’s physical condition will never return to what it once was, his fighting spirit remains intact, a fact his 2026 campaign clearly proves. The Ducati rider has slashed the gap to championship leader Jorge Martin to just 19 points heading into Round 14, hosted at Misano, his most successful clockwise circuit on the calendar with six victories to his name.
