Rebellion Racing has set the quickest time in the morning session of the WEC Rookie Test at the Bahrain International Circuit.

The #1 Rebellion R13-Gibson, shared by Norman Nato and Formula 2 driver Louis Deletraz set a fastest time of 01:44:867 in a session that was interrupted by an early rain storm. The #7 Toyota TS050 Hybrid, which saw split driver duties between Kamui Kobayashi, Toyota junior Kenta Yamashita and reserve driver Thomas Laurent, came second, just 0.062s behind the Rebellion.

The #38 JOTA Sport ORECA 07-Gibson, fresh off a podium in yesterday's 8 Hours of Bahrain, was quickest in LMP2, driven by team regulars Anthony Davidson, Antonio Felix da Costa and Roberto Gonzalez.

Porsche and Aston Martin also did laps in the morning session, with the most notable driver being G-Drive and Racing Team Nederland rookie Job van Uitert, who turned laps in the #92 Porsche 911 RSR-19. The Dutchman was in the car for the vast majority of the session to sample Porsche's GTE Pro challenger, and set a quickest time of 01:58:731.

The other three rookies in the session, Nyck de Vries, Mikkel Jensen and Vincent Abril, also completed track time on the rainy Sunday morning. Formula 2 champion De Vries shared the #8 Toyota TS050 Hybrid with Brendon Hartley and Thomas Laurent. Jensen drove the #36 Signatech Alpine A470-Gibson, while Abril spent time driving Team Project 1's #57 Porsche 911 RSR, the same car that won the GTE Am class in yesterday's 8 hour WEC round.

The Bahrain rookie test recommences later this afternoon, with the second session scheduled to run from 13:00-16:00pm local time.
