Mike Conway leads the Bapco 8 Hours of Bahrain after rivals Bruno Senna and Charlie Robertson made contact on the opening lap, bringing out a safety car.

Senna led into the first corner in the #1 Rebellion R13-Gibson, but was tagged by the #5 Ginetta G60-LT-P1 – AER of Charlie Robertson, who lost control on exit, spinning round and colliding with Senna.

Toyota's Sebastien Buemi and the #6 Ginetta of Mike Simpson both had to take to the runoff to avoid the collision, dropping back into the LMP2 field thus handing the lead to the #7 TS050 Hybrid of Conway.

The other LMP2 front runners also lost ground in the onslaught, with Jackie Chan DC Racing's Ho-Pin Tung the biggest victim, now second-to-last overall.

AF Corse have taken over the lead in GTE Pro, with Alessandro Pier Guidi now leading in the #51 Ferrari 488 GTE Evo ahead of Kevin Estre's #92 Porsche 911 RSR-19 and the #95 Aston Matrtin Vantage AMR of Marco Sorensen.

Ben Keating still leads in GTE Am in the #57 Team Project 1 Porsche 911 RSR, ahead of the #83 AF Corse Ferrari of Francois Perrodo and Egidio Perfetti's #56 Team Project 1 Porsche 911 RSR.
