Rebellion Racing headed the times during second practice for the 8 Hours of Bahrain World Endurance Championship round.

Behind the wheel of the #1 R-13 was Bruno Senna, who posted the fastest time of the 90-minute floodlit session, a 1:42.471.

The #5 Ginetta G60-LT-P1 driven by Charlie Robertson was second thanks to a late flyer, putting him 1.411 seconds adrift of Senna's time.

The two Toyotas were third and fourth – the same positions as FP1 – with half a second splitting the #7 and #8, with Mike Conway leading Kazuki Nakajima's time. Conway's best effort was more than 1.7s down on the Rebellion car.

The Toyotas are having to compete with uneven success ballast of 2.51s and 2.72s respectively, whilst the Rebellion is running 1.36s.

The #37 Jackie Chan DC Racing Oreca was quickest in the LMP2 class and pipped the second Ginetta LMP1 to 5th, with a time of 1:46.147 at the hands of Will Stevens.

The two Aston Martins led the way in the GTE Pro class. Early flying laps put them well ahead of the chasing rivals with Alex Lynn's 1:55.696 aboard the #97 easily beating Marco Sorensen in the sister car by over half a second.

The Dempsey-Proton Porsche 911 RSR driven by Matteo Cairoli topped the GTE Am class with a 1:56.510.

James Calado was forced to stop his #51 AF Corse Ferrari on track in the dying moments of the session with an apparent technical problem.

The third and final practice session is scheduled to begin at 11:15 local time on Friday.
