We've seen prototypes, we've seen fitted versions for testing pruposes, but we've yet to see the final product…until now!
Chip Ganassi Racing has shown off the first final version of the new-for-2020 aeroscreen fitted to one of its chassis, which includes a livery that incorporates the head protection system.
Scott Dixon’s #9 Dallara DW12-Honda chassis in its PNC Bank livery has been fitted with a finished aeroscreen, which will make its competitive debut in during the 2020 IndyCar season.
The screen has been developed in partnership between Red Bull Advanced Technologies and INDYCAR as the series answer to Formula 1's halo, however this goes a step further by adding a screen which wraps around the cockpit.
Teams have been given the freedom to apply graphics to the upper part of the screen to better incorporate it into their livery, with IndyCar mandating that its logo be positioned on the side.
Also visible is the new air duct ahead of the screen which will feed air into the cockpit for cooling purposes and to reduce the chances of the screen fogging, although an anti-fog coating is also incorporated.
