Kyle Busch, the 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion and 2019 NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series owner champion, added a wrestling title to his accomplishments Monday night in Nashville while in "Music City" for Champion's Week. With help from former NASCAR driver Michael Waltrip, Busch briefly held the WWE 24/7 championship Monday.
Busch and Waltrip were in audience at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena during the WWE event and were brought to the floor by 24/7 champion R-Truth. Then, Waltrip unzipped his jacket to reveal a referee's uniform shirt, and Busch pinned R-Truth. With a three-count by Waltrip, Busch became the new WWE 24/7 champion.
"NEW 24/7 CHAMPION! The 2019 #NASCAR Cup Champion @KyleBusch has just won the #247Championship on #RAW!” according to a tweet from the official WWE [@WWE] Twitter account.
R-Truth retook his title from Busch later Monday night in the Bridgestone Arena dressing room area.
NASCAR Champion's Week will culminate in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Awards banquet Thursday night at Music City Center in downtown Nashville.
