HWA Racelab has completed its Formula 2 driver line-up for 2020, with Ferrari-backed Giuliano Alesi joining Artem Markelov.
Mercedes affiliate HWA entered the series this year by forging a technical alliance with Arden Motorsport, but for next year will take over the entry.
Last week it confirmed Formula 2 veteran Markelov would lead its effort and on Thursday it was revealed that Ferrari junior Alesi will move across from Trident.
“I would like to thank HWA AG for the magnificent reception and for the faith they are putting in me,” said Alesi, son of 1995 Canadian Grand Prix winner Jean.
“I am overjoyed to be part of this impressive company.
“All the employees are already highly motivated and I am looking forward to working with a great team – that is the most important thing for me.
“I cannot describe how I feel at the moment – I am over the moon."
Alesi holds 18th place in this year's championship.
