Sergio Jimenez stormed to pole position for the second round of the 2019/20 Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY, beating Simon Evans to the top spot in qualifying.

Qualifying in Diriyah for the second race of the year was a close affair, with Jimenez, Evans and Alice Powell exchanging the fastest time over the course of the 30-minute session.

Improving at its close, Jimenez emerged at the head of the field of 10, completing a 1:31.293 lap to open up a slender 0.081s advantage over Team Asia New Zealand's Evans.

Continuing to improve, Jimenez bettered his previous personal best, securing a 1:30.891 run. This handed the Brazilian racer by pole position by 0.483s, with the Kiwi failing to improve.
