Kevin Estre and Michael Christensen will start tomorrow's 4 Hours of Shanhai from pole position, while Porsche also takes pole in GTE Am.

Christensen had a cautious start to the session, but Estre improved greatly in the second run, bringing the duo's average down to 01:59:579. This was enough to beat the Aston Martin duo of Nicki Thiim and Marco Sorensen by 0.018s.

The #95 outqualified the #97 sister car by 0.010s, as Maxime Martin and Alex Lynn came third. The two Ferraris were next, with the #51 of James Calado in fourth and the #71 Miguel Molina and Davide Rigon in fifth in the Ferrari 488 GTE Evos.

Fuji pole sitters Richard Lietz and Gianmaria Bruni brought up the rear, the #91 Porsche 911 RSR-19 0.645s behind their polesitting team-mates.

Matteo Cairoli and Egidio Perfetti brought the Aston Martin pole run in GTE Am to an end. The Italian young driver got his runs spot on, and Perfetti improved at the very end to put the average down to 02:00:824.

That was enough to go nearly seven tenths of a second quicker than the #98 Aston Martin Racing entry of Ross Gunn and Paul Dalla Lana, while Christian Ried and Matt Campbell were third in the #77 Dempsey-Proton Porsche 911 RSR.

Fuji winners Charlie Eastwood and Salih Yoluc will line up fourth in the #90 TF Sport Aston Martin Vantage, ahead of the #57 Team Project 1 Porsche 911 RSR.

Louis Prette had a hairy moment on his run, spinning the #78 Proton Porsche 911 RSR coming out of the final corner, but was able to continue and hand over to his father Philippe.
