Alfa Romeo Formula 1 development driver Tatiana Calderon will make her Porsche Supercup debut at this weekend’s Mexican round of the championship.
Calderon, 26, joined the team – under its Sauber guise – at the start of 2018, and has had a handful of runs in its contemporary and old-spec machinery.
That included a filming day in the 2018 C37 at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez after last year’s Mexican Grand Prix.
Calderon, who races full-time with BWT Arden in Formula 2, will compete for Team Project 1 at the upcoming event, which acts as a support for the Formula 1 Mexican Grand Prix.
“I am very happy to return to Mexico and I will always have the memory of my debut in a Formula 1 car at the circuit with Alfa Romeo Racing,” she said.
“This time I am very happy to return to this circuit to compete in the Porsche Supercup.
“It will be a great challenge for me because it is something very different from the cars in which I have specialised, but I will certainly enjoy it very much.
“Running in the framework of the F1 Grand Prix in Mexico will feel like running at home.”
