The only guest-entry in the Hypercar category for the 24H Le Mans went fastest in the morning session of the Le Mans test day with the time of 3:27.011, closely followed by #35 Alpine and #12 Cadillac in the top 3.
The first on-track action of the 24 Hours of Le Mans got underway with a three-hour morning test session, giving teams and drivers their first opportunity to reacquaint themselves with the Circuit de la Sarthe ahead of race week.
Several reserve and future drivers were among those taking part, including Jamie Chadwick in the GMR-001 Hypercar, making her the only female to do so this weekend.
The session also served as an opportunity for officials and teams to run through race procedures, including Full Course Yellow and Safety Car deployments. With conditions focused on preparation rather than outright performance, the primary objective was track familiarisation and system checks rather than chasing headline lap times.
The only interruption came following an incident involving the #8 Toyota. Driver Ryo Hirakawa reported that the Algarve Pro Racing #25 LMP2 car lost control on the exit of Turn 3 and spun into the Toyota, bringing out the session’s sole red flag. There is no critical damage on the Toyota, and it will continue in the afternoon session.
At the top of the timesheets, Filipe Albuquerque led the way for Cadillac with a best lap of 3:27.011, finishing ahead of Charles Milesi in the Alpine and fellow Cadillac driver Norman Nato. Aston Martin’s Alex Riberas and Ferrari’s Nicklas Nielsen completed the top five, while Toyota, BMW and Aston Martin all featured inside a closely matched top ten separated by less than two seconds.
The second session of the test day will start at 15:30.
