Nicolo Bulega sets stunning Aragon lap record to claim WorldSBK Superpole
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Nicolo Bulega broke his own lap record at the Aragon circuit as he claimed a sixth successive Superpole in WorldSBK qualifying.

Bulega headed to the top of the timesheets with his first lap of the session, and remained rooted to first place throughout the session.

On his second tour of the circuit, Bulega broke the all-time lap record at Aragon after setting it himself back in 2025, with his 1:47.322s almost half a second faster than second-placed Sam Lowes.

Ducati team-mate Iker Lecuona put some pressure on Bulega, moving into second and just 0.028s off the Italian’s best lap time.

However, at the very end of the session, the championship leader set the first-ever sub-1:46 lap time in Aragon – with his blistering 1:46.836 more than enough for pole position.

Alberto Surra qualified on the front row after receiving a tow down the back straight, but will start from the back of the grid due to a yellow flag infringement in practice.

The Lowes brothers scrapped it out in their battle to be promoted after Surra’s penalty, with Sam Lowes edging ahead into fourth and Alex Lowes fifth.

Lorenzo Baldassarri took sixth at the flag, while a stunning lap from Michael van der Mark saw him up to seventh.

Tommy Bridewell qualified eighth, with Yari Montella in ninth and Axel Bassani completing the top 10.

Andrea Locatelli’s best lap time saw him in 11th, as Most stand-out Garrett Gerloff took 12th over the line.

Xavi Vierge was 13th ahead of Jake Dixon, who completed his first WorldSBK qualifying in 14th, and Remy Gardner in 15th.
