The 6 Hours of Fuji are underway, but contact between the #88 Dempsey-Proton Porsche of Satoshi Hoshino and the #98 Aston Martin of Paul Dalla Lana has brought out a safety car.

The safety car came out when Hoshino hit Dalla Lana from behind under braking in the final sector, damaging both cars and leaving debris on the track.

The early safety car interrupted a challenge for the lead by the #1 Rebellion R13-Gibson of Bruno Senna, who moved up into second place in the first lap and then attempted to take the lead away from Sebastien Buemi's #8 Toyota TS050 Hybrid before the safety car came out on lap two.

Buemi still leads ahead of Senna and Kamui Kobayashi's #7 Toyota, while the #6 Ginetta is two laps down after starting in the pit lane for not setting an average lap time in qualifying.
