Pramac has announced that former Formula 1 team boss Ross Brawn has joined its Board of Directors to help its MotoGP team.

The Yamaha satellite has announced a shift in its Directors’ Board, and will welcome the 71-year-old Brit into MotoGP for his first foray into two wheel racing.

Brawn will act as strategic advisor to Team Principal Paolo Campinoti, bringing his extensive experience from across motorsport.

Brawn‘s motorsport career spans more than four decades, during which he won a total of 22 world titles in the F1 paddock.

Some of his most notable roles within the F1 paddock include being technical director at Benetton and Ferrari, majority stakeholder of BrawnG and afterwards Team Principal of Mercedes.

Brawn held his most recent high profile role in F1 from 2017 until 2022, as the managing director, motorsports and technical director for Formula One Management.

“I am very proud to welcome Ross to Pramac Racing,” said Campinotti in a press release.

“Beyond his extraordinary career and achievements in Formula 1, Ross is someone with whom I have shared a friendship and a relationship of great respect for many years.

“I believe that his vision, knowledge and winning mentality will make a valuable contribution to the continued growth and development of Pramac Racing.”

Brawn himself added: “I’m delighted to join the board of Pramac Racing Limited in a non-executive role.

“Motorsport has always been about people, teamwork and continuous improvement and I look forward to supporting Paolo and the team and contributing where my experience may be useful.

“Pramac has built an impressive organisation with a strong spirit and ambition and I‘m excited to be part of its future.”
