Trackhouse Racing and Davide Brivio will part ways following the 2026 MotoGP season, as rumours suggest he will join a factory team for 2027.

After three years with Trackhouse Racing, it has been confirmed by the American team that Brivio will be stepping down from his role as Team Principal.

The Italian returned to MotoGP after a brief stint in Formula 1 with Alpine, as he signed on with Justin Marks’ new project within the sport.

During his time with Trackhouse, Brivio has seen Raul Fernandez take the team’s first win at the 2025 Australian Grand Prix, and most recently, Ai Ogura secure his first MotoGP podium at the 2026 Grand Prix of France.

Brivio has a wealth of experience behind him as he was the Team Manager at Yamaha from 2002 until 2010, when he became a consultant to Valentino Rossi.

When Suzuki re-joined MotoGP, the Italian was lured to the Japanese manufacturer and took on the Team Manager role, which he held when Joan Mir won the 2020 MotoGP title.

It is now expected that Brivio will join the factory Honda squad for the 2027 MotoGP season, but neither the Italian nor the Japanese squad has confirmed this.

When speaking about his departure to MotoGP, Brivio said, “In circumstances like these, it is always difficult to find the right words.

“First of all, I would like to express my sincere thanks to Trackhouse and to Justin Marks in particular, for giving me the opportunity to return to MotoGP. It has been an important step in both my professional and personal journey, and it also gave me the opportunity to add the new experience of leading an independent team.

“I am proud of the shared ambitions we pursued together and of having helped build a team with strong human and technical foundations. Together, we achieved important results that I will always carry with me as special memories.

“My thanks go to Raul and Ai for their performances on track, and a very special thank you to all the team members whose commitment, professionalism, and expertise made it possible to achieve so much.

“I would also like to thank everyone at Aprilia, especially Massimo Rivola and Fabiano Sterlacchini, with whom there has always been a strong spirit of collaboration and mutual respect.

“Trackhouse is only at the beginning of its journey, and I truly believe it has a great future ahead. But, for now, it is time to get back to work and try to achieve a few more great results together before the end of the season.”
