Johann Zarco continued Honda’s Friday dominance to top the second MotoGP practice session at Le Mans.
The Frenchman set a rapid 1.29.907s around his home track, followed by Ducati riders Fabio Di Giannantonio and Francesco Bagnaia.
Bagnaia crashed on his final run, meaning a series of riders, including Marc Marquez, couldn’t improve on their final laps, meaning the reigning MotoGP champion missed out on Q2.
Alex Marquez claimed fourth for Gresini, finishing ahead of Honda’s Joan Mir and the factory Aprilia duo of Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi.
Departing Yamaha rider Alex Rins impressed with eighth, followed by Ai Ogura and KTM rider Pedro Acosta.
Friday’s second practice proved to be incredibly tight, with the top 19 riders covered by 0.8s.
Enea Bastianini and Brad Binder narrowly missed out on an automatic Q2 slot, ahead of Marquez and Raul Fernandez.
Jack Miller and Luca Marini lapped 15th and 16th, respectively, followed by Fabio Quartararo, Franco Morbidelli and Diogo Moreira.
Toprak Razgatlioglu, Fermin Aldeguer and Jonas Folger closed out proceedings.
