Pedro Acosta topped the timesheets for KTM in the final Spanish MotoGP practice session, which was affected by adverse conditions.

Rain early in the morning proved to make the track conditions difficult for some riders, with Marc Marquez notably running into the gravel trap at Turn 6 on his first foray onto the circuit.

However, as the session progressed the lap times started to tumble, as KTM’s Acosta proved to be the benefactor as he soared to the top of the timetable.

Acosta posted a 1:48.862 to finish the final practice session as the fastest rider on track, over half a second clear of Marquez in second place.

Johann Zarco produced a strong final lap to move up into third place, edging in front of the factory Aprilia pair headed by Marco Bezzecchi in fourth with Jorge Martin fifth.

Toprak Razgatlioglu produced an incredible save in the late stages of practice and finished sixth ahead of Alex Marquez in seventh.

Jack Miller produced his typical mixed-conditions form and found himself eighth at the chequered flag, as Raul Fernandez and Franco Morbidelli completed the top 10.

Joan Mir finds himself under investigation for riding his damaged Honda in an unsafe manner, but still finished 11th ahead of team-mate Luca Marini in 12th.

Yamaha wildcard Augusto Fernandez finished 13th, while Fabio Di Giannantonio took 14th.

Brad Binder crashed in the final minute of practice and took 15th at the flag ahead of Fabio Quartararo in 16th and Francesco Bagnaia in 17th.

Fermin Aldeguer also crashed in the session and finished 18th, while Diogo Moreira completed practice in 19th.

Enea Bastianini’s best time was enough for 20th over Ai Ogura, as Alex Rins was the final full-time rider in 22nd.

Lorenzo Savadori completed the standings in 23rd as a wildcard for Aprilia.
