Campos Racing's Alex Peroni escaped a huge accident during Saturday morning's FIA Formula 3 Feature race at the Monza circuit.
Peroni ran wide at the high-speed Parabolica corner and hit a 'sausage' kerb, which has been placed on the run-off to deter drivers from running wide and gaining an advantage. However for the 19-year-old, it catapulted his car into the air.
Peroni's Campos car flew through the air before landing upside down on the tyre barrier, eventually coming to a rest the right way up.
The Australian was able to walk away from the accident, which involved no other car, and has been transferred to the medical centre for routine checks.
The incident took place with four laps remaining and saw the race finish under the Safety Car, with Robert Schwartzman taking the victory.
