Six of the drivers competing at this weekend’s Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix are set to take a grid penalty due to new engine components.
Mercedes, Renault and Honda have all brought updated power unit specifications to Spa-Francorchamps.
Mercedes has equipped its refined power unit to its factory cars and those of Racing Point and Williams.
From its representatives, only Lance Stroll will take a penalty as he was left out-of-sequence after taking a new engine at the Canadian Grand Prix, when he suffered a failure during practice.
Stroll is set to drop to the back of the grid, where he will be joined by Red Bull’s Alexander Albon and Toro Rosso’s Daniil Kvyat, who have taken on Honda’s Spec 4 engine.
Renault, meanwhile, has brought its C-Spec ICE, which has been fitted to both factory cars and the McLaren of Carlos Sainz Jr.
That trio will take a five-place drop from wherever they qualify.
