Porsche has named Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer as its title partner ahead of the German marque's entry into the ABB FIA Formula E Championship later this year.
The partnership, which will be long-term, will see the two brands build upon their previous successes, with the watch manufacturer backing Porsche's Jo Siffert from 1966-1971 and taking a number of endurance race wins, including victory in the World Sportscar Championships in 1969.
"We are truly honored to begin our partnership with Porsche, a move which further strengthens our presence in Formula E," said Stéphane Bianchi, TAG Heuer CEO.
"Beyond sharing the same passion for motorsport and having the same challenger spirit, our two brands have the same uncompromising love for quality and technology.
"TAG Heuer is looking forward to supporting the team on its journey into Formula E and the upcoming races."
Racing under the name of TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team, the arrival of the German marque to Formula E will see the series' grid expand to 24 cars while Mercedes will also join the series, taking over HWA Racelab.
Set to unveil its Season 6 car on August 28, Porsche's 2019/20 driver lineup will be formed of 2016 FIA World Endurance Champion Neel Jani and former DS Techeetah driver and triple Le Mans winner Andre Lotterer.
Formula E's sixth season of competition will commence on November 22 and 23 with the double-header Ad Diriyah E-Prix.
