CFMoto Aspar’s Daniel Holgado converted pole position into a dominant Brazilian Moto2 race victory at Goiania.

Holgado dominated the early stages of the race, but came under some late pressure from Daniel Munoz, however still had enough tyre left to see the victory through.

Polesitter Holgado was demoted down to third at the end of the first lap, but set the fastest lap despite losing two positions.

Alex Escrig made the best launch from third on the grid and took the lead of the race heading down the first corner ahead of Munoz, who had started on the fourth row.

Munoz then made his bid for the lead of the race, passing Escrig into Turn 6 to move into first place.

Escrig continued to lose places after dropping behind Holgado, but remained in touching distance after race leader Munoz made a slight mistake.

Munoz’s error saw him drop behind Holgado, who returned to the front inside the first five laps after losing ground on the initial start.

After getting into the lead, Holgado looked comfortable throughout and maintained a solid gap between himself

However, with just five laps to go, the pace for all riders seemed to drop as the tyre wear started eating away at the lap times.

Munoz saw an opportunity to close in on Holgado’s lead and cut the gap down to just two tenths with three laps remaining.

The Italtrans rider used his momentum to sail past the long-time race leader, but relinquished the position after Holgado used the slipstream to get back ahead on the main straight.

Similarly, Manuel Gonzalez closed in on Escrig in the fight for the final podium position and eased past going onto the final lap of the race.

Holgado crossed the line to take victory by almost a second ahead of Munoz despite the second-placed Spaniard’s best efforts.

Gonzalez managed to hold onto third place, with the 2025 runner-up denying fourth-placed finisher Escrig a chance of a first podium visit.

David Alonso prevailed in a close battle for fifth over Izan Gueva in sixth and Tony Arbolino in seventh.

Collin Veijer took the chequered flag in eighth, while Celestino Vietti recovered to ninth after being forced wide in the early laps of the race.

Ivan Ortola completed the top 10, finishing four seconds clear of 11th-placed Alonso Lopez.

Adrian Huertas crossed the line in 12th ahead of Mario Aji in 13th and Barry Baltus in 14th.

Filip Salac completed the points finishers in 15th.
