Katherine Legge is hoping that she and team-mate Bryan Sellers will see a return to form at this weekend's Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY season finale in New York, receiving increased engineering support from Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.

Legge was the first driver to be confirmed for the inaugural season of the I-PACE eTROPHY and is one of five drivers in contention for the Pro Drivers' Championship with one weekend of racing remaining.

Both Legge and Sellers enjoyed a successful start to the season, taking back-to-back wins in Mexico City and Hong Kong, however, have struggled for performance in recent races, with the team missing out on the podium for the first time this season in Berlin.

Looking back at the 2018/19 campaign, Legge described the season as up and down and pinned this upon the team's lack of engineering support from Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, relying solely on Jaguar Land Rover and their own expertise:

"[The season has been] up and down!" she told Motorsport Week. "We started the season off and both Bryan and I were very competitive and very fast.

"I think at the beginning of the year we were the cars to beat but now I think honestly the Brazilians [Sergio Jimenez and Caca Bueno] are the cars to beat.

"That’s just because we tried to do the engineering side ourselves between Bryan and I and they’ve had an engineer since the word go.

"I think we honestly just aren’t the engineers that we thought we could be and obviously we’ve worked together with the JLR engineers that we’re provided."

For this weekend's double-header race in New York, both Legge and Sellers will receive engineering support from RLL and as such, are hoping for a return to form in the Big Apple:

"We’ve brought this up to Bobby Rahal and Bobby has now given us an engineer so hopefully, we’ll come back stronger at the last few races in New York," she added.

"Obviously, we need to because it’s our home races. It’s been frustrating because we had all of the pace at the beginning of the year and we really thought we would be good and then in the last few races we’ve been making something and we’re not sure what that is. Onwards and upwards!"

The inaugural season of the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY will come to a close this weekend on July 13 and 14 in New York where history will be made as the series' first champion is crowned.
