Stats: Power unit component usage ahead of the Austrian GP

The Austrian Grand Prix is the 9th race of the 21-race 2019 calendar, which of course means we're almost at the half-way point…it's flown by and it almost seems as if Mercedes have won every race…oh wait, that's right, they actually have! They also happen to be in the best position with regards to their power unit component usage.

Both Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas have used just two of their allotted ICE, TC and MGU-H and are still on their first of two MGU-K's, ES and CE.

The Ferrari duo of Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc aren't much worse off, but have both used a second CE.

Worse off are Renault's Nico Hulkenberg and Toro Rosso's Daniil Kvyat who have both exceeded their allowance of certain elements.

Alex Albon meanwhile is due to take a penalty this weekend as he moves on to Honda's Spec 3 unit, which will see him exceed the number of ICE's he's allowed under the rules.

Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), Turbo-charger (TC) and Motor Generator Unit-Heat (MGU-H) are limited to three per car per season, whilst the Motor Generator Unit-Kinetic (MGU-K), Energy Store (ES) and Control Electronics (CE) are limited to just two.
