MP Motorsport's Mahaveer Raghunathan has been banned for the Austrian rounds of the FIA Formula 2 Championship after racking up 12 points on his racing licence.
The Indian driver collected 9 points alone during the feature race of the French round of the championship after failing to adhere to the Virtual Safety Car regulations during all three occasions it was used in the race.
15 seconds was added to his time and was handed three penalty points for each infringement, earning him the ban.
Raghunathan has made a series of infractions during his time in the championship, the first coming at the first race in Bahrain where he finished the race and continued at racing speed on another full lap.
In Baku, he then failed to stop for a call at the weighbridge in practice and also passed a fellow driver before the start-finish line in the sprint race. He also had run-ins with Campos Racing's Jack Aitken on multiple occasions in Monaco which earned him more punishments from the stewards.
Raghunathan was not the only driver to receive penalties from the French feature race as BWT Arden's Tatiana Calderon was awarded a 10-second time penalty to her final race time after two VSC infringements.
Prema Racing's Sean Gelael will start from the pit-lane for the sprint race after the stewards deemed him responsible for the collision between himself and team-mate Mick Schumacher in Turn 3 on the opening lap, putting both drivers out of the race.
It was determined that the Indonesian went off track prior to Turn 3 and when rejoining the track was deemed not to be in full control of his car before the collision. Breaching Appendix L Chapter IV, Article 2 (d) of the 2019 FIA International Sporting Code.
