Fabio Quartararo is using the MotoGP winter break to recharge and “disconnect” after a tough 2025 campaign.

The Frenchman ended the year ninth overall with 201 points, earning more than twice the points of his nearest Yamaha rival Jack Miller.

But Quartararo’s season highlights stood out in another disastrous year for Yamaha, claiming five pole positions and earning a podium finish at the Jerez Grand Prix.

The 2021 champion revealed that the demands of the 2025 campaign had weighed heavily on him mentally.

“You know that you are not fighting for what you want,” Quartararo shared with TNT Sports.

“I’m giving my 100% all the time, but sometimes it’s P4, sometimes it’s P6, sometimes it’s P10, sometimes it’s on the ground.

“But I really needed the season to finish, to also disconnect a bit, think a bit about many things, and I think [the winter break] will be a great time.”

Quartararo’s mention of ‘many things’ could relate to Yamaha’s shift to a V4 after the M1 brought the Japanese marque success in previous years.

Fabio Quartararo rates his 2025 MotoGP season a 5/10

When the 26-year-old was asked to rate his season, he gave it a moderately low rating, despite having extracted the maximum from the package presented to him.

“From one to ten? Five,” he admitted.

“It was a difficult season, of course. I showed myself that I was fast. This was the most important [thing].

“We know how difficult it is to make results with our bike. But [there was] nothing really important to remember from this season.”

With his contract expiring at the end of the 2026 season, ahead of the new 2027 regulations, Quartararo has repeatedly shared his stance on the situation.

“I have no time. I just want to try to make it work. If not, it will be time to make a change,” he reiterated.”
