Sebastien Buemi has praised the hard work of Nissan e.dams over the course of  2018/19 Formula E campaign after the Swiss racer claimed his maiden podium finish of the season in Berlin.

The Season 2 champion started the 10th race of the season from pole position after setting the fastest lap in Super Pole for the first time since the 2018 New York City E-Prix last season.

Securing a strong start, Buemi led the opening stages of the race, however, quickly fell to second when long-term rival Lucas di Grassi overtook the Swiss racer into Turn 6 to take the lead.

Remaining in second, Buemi briefly dropped to third after getting overtaken by Antonio Felix da Costa, however, regained the position, going on to take the runner-up spot after holding off a late charge from reigning champion Jean-Eric Vergne.

"I’m really happy in the end," Buemi told Motorsport Week.

"I got some good points and I’m looking forward to Bern and New York because we seem to be doing much better and I’m happy with that. I’m always happy for the team.

"They’ve done a great job so far this season. They’ve worked really hard. Finally, it seems to work out well.

"I hope I can build on this. We’ll push as hard as we can.”

By taking second in Berlin, Buemi moved into the top 10 in the Drivers' Championship, now sitting on 60 points, three points behind team-mate Oliver Rowland who sits in ninth.

Collectively, the Nissan e.dams pair have amassed 124 points, moving into fourth in the Teams' Standings, 13 points adrift of the third-placed Envision Virgin Racing squad while trailing leaders DS Techeetah by 64 points.

Looking ahead to June's Bern E-Prix which marks the penultimate round of the 2018/19 season, Buemi expressed his excitement for his home race, getting the chance to get some early mileage on the street circuit through a demo run two weeks ago:

"I’m looking forward to my home race," he added. "[The demo run] was cool. It was cool to do it, to bring the cars to the people and to set some good mileage. I’m happy with that.”
