W Series tweaks liveries after identification troubles

W Series will tweak its driver liveries ahead of its second round this weekend, after fans complained about how difficult it was to identify certain drivers.

Unlike most series, W Series is a single-make formula with no teams, therefore all 18 drivers share the same livery design, but in five different colours.

Drivers also switch cars at each round, meaning the colour of their car might not be the same as the one from the previous round, making it difficult to determine which driver is which.

Therefore the only way to distinguish them is by their driver number – located on the rear-wing, side and nose – their name and nationality flag, which takes up half the rear-wing endplates and the halo.

This will be tweaked for the second race at Zolder this weekend, with the nationality flag now taking up the entire rear-wing endplate and halo.

Driver numbers will be much larger and will be included on the front-wing as well as the nose, engine cover and inside of the rear-wing, and the drivers name will be added to the nose in large letters.
