BMW i Andretti Motorsport's Antonio Felix da Costa has been disqualified from the Monaco E-Prix following a power overuse during the final two laps of the race.
Da Costa, who won the 2018/19 season opener in Ad Diriyah, secured sixth place at the ninth race of the season in Monaco, fighting from seventh on the grid to secure eight championship points to contribute towards his title fight.
Following the 45-minute + 1 lap race which was won by DS Techeetah's Jean-Eric Vergne, da Costa was under investigation after the race stewards received a report that the Portuguese driver was in breach of Article 37.3 of the 2018/2019 FIA Formula E Sporting Regulations.
A subsequent investigation found that da Costa had exceeded his maximum power output during the final two laps of the E-Prix, using 228kW of power during laps 50 and 51.
This resulted in the driver's eventual disqualification from the final standings, meaning that BMW i Andretti Motorsport failed to register any points in Monaco with Alexander Sims finishing outside of the top 10.
As a result of da Costa's disqualification, Mitch Evans will inherit sixth place for Jaguar Racing while Andre Lotterer moves into seventh for DS Techeetah, with Alex Lynn in eighth while Stoffel Vandoorne and Jose Maria Lopez both move inside the top 10.
The promotion of both Vandoorne and Lopez comes as the result of an additional post-race penalty for Audi's Daniel Abt, with the driver being handed a 33-second time penalty after it was found that he was responsible for a Turn 1 collision with Oliver Turvey – an incident that forced the Briton to retire.
