Nicolo Bulega demolishes lap record in Jerez WorldSBK Superpole

Ducati rider Nicolo Bulega took Superpole after demolishing the all-time lap record at the WorldSBK season finale in Jerez.

The Italian produced a blistering lap time of 1.36.629s on his Panigale, lapping half a second faster than title rival Toprak Razgatlioglu.

Marc VDS rider Sam Lowes claimed third spot, a second behind the Italian, closely followed by his twin brother Alex Lowes.

Andrea Iannone completed his final qualifying session with GoEleven Ducati in fifth, followed by the Yamaha duo of Remy Gardner and Jonathan Rea.

Alvaro Bautista qualified in eighth place on the second factory Ducati bike, ahead of Honda’s Xavi Vierge and Yamaha rider Andrea Locatelli.

Tarran Mackenzie posted the 11th quickest time for Bonovo Ducati, lapping faster than Michael van der Mark and Yari Montella.

Axel Bassani and Garrett Gerloff sealed 14th and 15th for Bimota and Kawasaki, respectively.
