The ABB FIA Formula E Championship has launched its mobile Virtually Live Ghost Racing game ahead of this weekend's Paris E-Prix.
The game, which was announced in the run-up to the Zurich E-Prix last June, revolutionises fan participation, allowing players to race against Formula E's field of 22 drivers in real-time through telemetry and data by working together with Virtually Live.
Available to download for free on iOS and Android, by working with Virtually Live, the game identically mirrors on-track action while a "cutting edge" physics engine provides a realistic racing experience.
Offering immersion through high-quality graphics, the game features every Formula E circuit in addition to live commentary on both the real and virtual track.
“Before we launched the ABB FIA Formula E Championship, I promised that one day our fans will be able to race against their favourite drivers in real time, making them a part of the racing more than ever before and now this dream is a reality," said Formula E Founder & CEO Alejandro Agag.
"I want to thank Virtually Live for all their hard work and support over the years in creating this innovation in gaming and I can’t wait to see the game in action live at the Paris E-Prix.”
As well as racing against the Formula E grid, players can also personalise and tune cars while recreating some of the championship's most iconic moments, challenging friends in a 'time attack' mode and competing in custom scenario modes.
Fans can also watch races unfold through the cockpit of their favourite driver.
