An estimated 50,000 fans attended a Red Bull Formula 1 demonstration in Vietnam as the outfit marked a year to go until the country’s inaugural grand prix.
Vietnam will become the latest country to host a Formula 1 event when the championship visits the streets of Hanoi next April.
The 22-turn semi-permanent street circuit will pass the My Dinh national stadium and it was on this stretch of road that Red Bull’s Formula 1 demonstration took place.
Formula 1 veteran David Coulthard and simulator driver Jake Dennis took to the streets in a pair of title-winning 2011-spec RB7s on Saturday.

“It’s great to have the opportunity to drive the RB7 again and to see the energy of the crowd,” said Coulthard.
“It was pretty dusty out there but in fairness to the city they’re building a grand prix track on this site as we speak but it just added to the visual aspect.
“It was very warm out there but it was really great to have the chance to do it. The energy that these show cars bring around the world is amazing.
“It’s only fitting that we’re here to mark the one-year countdown to the first race in Hanoi.”
Renault was also in action on Saturday as its French Grand Prix roadshow continued.
Test driver Jack Aitken got behind the wheel of the 2012-spec E20 at Marck, Pas-de-Calais.
