Formula 1 has outlined plans for four festivals in 2019, with events set to be held in Shanghai, Chicago, Los Angeles and a yet-to-be-confirmed city in Brazil.

The first fan event of 2019 will take place in Shanghai next week to run in conjunction with the Chinese Grand Prix, which will be the 1,000th World Championship Grand Prix.

Next week’s event will be held at Xintiandi Park, with Renault tester Guan Yu Zhou to demonstrate the squad’s 2012-spec E20 while stunt driver Jessica Hawkins will pilot a Sauber C30.

The event in Shanghai will be followed by similar festivals in Chicago, Los Angeles and at an unconfirmed location in Brazil, with further details to be revealed in due course.

“Following the huge success last season, we are thrilled to announce all four F1 Festivals for 2019,” said F1 commercial chief Sean Bratches.

“We are committed to enhancing fan experience of F1 and continue to explore new ways of exposing fans to the sport.

“We believe it’s vital to take F1 into the cities so that fans can immerse themselves in the race day atmosphere.

“By announcing three new festival locations we hope fans around the world are excited to see what F1 Festivals have to offer and we are thrilled to be returning to China to celebrate our 1000th GP.”

Formula 1 carried out its first festival in London in 2017 and held four more through last year in Shanghai, Marseille, Milan and Miami.
