An updated version of the 2019 Formula 1 entry list has confirmed Ferrari has again tweaked its official name, reflecting its sponsorship from Philip Morris International.
Ferrari has been partnered for several decades by PMI and last year the company launched its Mission Winnow project.
For 2019 it was entered as Scuderia Ferrari Mission Winnow and ran the decals during pre-season testing.
That prompted Australian authorities to investigate the legality of Ferrari’s Mission Winnow branding and the team instead opted to replace the logos at last weekend’s Grand Prix.
The entry list was also amended to reflect that change, with the team entered as Scuderia Ferrari.
McLaren also removed British American Tobacco’s A Better Tomorrow branding from its MCL34.
On Friday the FIA published an updated entry list with Ferrari reverting to Scuderia Ferrari Mission Winnow as its official team name, with the slogans set to return at next weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix.
Tobacco advertising has been prohibited in Formula 1 for over a decade but the latest initiatives have attracted the attention of the World Health Organisation.
It has urged governments to take action against the schemes, suggesting the newly-launched initiatives are merely subliminal versions of tobacco advertising.
