Toro Rosso unveils Honda-powered STR14

Toro Rosso has kicked off a busy week in the Formula 1 world by taking the wraps off its Honda-powered STR14.

Toro Rosso finished ninth in last year’s Constructors’ Championship, its first campaign with Honda, having occasionally compromised its own prospects to assist the marque’s development, in anticipation of its tie with Red Bull.

The STR14 was revealed during an online launch on Monday and features the same colour scheme as its predecessor.

Toro Rosso is one of a handful of teams to enter 2019 with a revised driver line-up, after Red Bull promoted Pierre Gasly and axed Brendon Hartley.

Daniil Kvyat has returned for his third stint with the team having spent much of 2018 as Ferrari’s development driver following his previous sacking from Red Bull’s system in late 2017.

Alexander Albon, meanwhile, steps up to Formula 1 after placing third in last season’s Formula 2 championship, with his debut coming seven years after he was let go by Red Bull’s junior team.

Albon is the only driver on the grid yet to sample Formula 1 machinery.

Toro Rosso's unveiling begins a busy week in Formula 1, with the remainder of the teams set to launch their 2019 programmes in the build-up to the start of testing next Monday.

Williams will present its 2019 livery and new title sponsor later this afternoon, before Renault takes centre stage on Tuesday.

Mercedes, Red Bull and Racing Point have opted for Wednesday, while McLaren and Ferrari will launch on Thursday and Friday respectively, with Alfa Romeo set to conclude launch season early next Monday morning.
