Aprilia is prepared to organise a special test for MotoGP World Champion Jorge Martin once he is given medical clearance to return to racing.
The World Champion suffered injuries in pre-season testing, which prevented him from taking part in any MotoGP race until the fourth round in Qatar.
A crash at the Losail Circuit saw Martin suffer further injuries, including fractured ribs, a pneumothorax injury and a fractured scaphoid.
Aprilia confirmed it is planning a test for Martin after the rules were changed to allow injured riders a chance to test their machinery before returning a race weekend.
CEO Massimo Rivola revealed to TNT Sports at Assen that there had been plans to test Martin on the 9th July at Misano if he received medical clearance, with a potential return to action at Brno.
However, following a medical examination, Aprilia shared the Spanish rider would not take part in the German Grand Prix as his injuries have not yet healed.
The Italian manufacturer’s statement read: “This is the medical report for Jorge Martin following the examinations carried out on 30/06/2025 at the Dexeus University Hospital, Quirón Group.
“Report by Dr. Xavier Mir regarding the scaphoid: clinical progress is good, with nearly a full range of motion in the scaphoid. Right now the bone consolidation is not yet 100%, but the healing process is progressing positively, despite the repair not yet being fully complete.
“Report by Dr. Angel Charte regarding the rib fractures: there is significant improvement in the fracture sites of most of the left rib injuries. Despite the notable progress, some of the fractures have not yet fully consolidated.
“The evolution is very positive, and on this basis two more weeks are needed for complete healing. A private examination is scheduled early next week for further evaluation.
“Participation in the German GP is ruled out.”
