Nicolo Bulega completed an impressive record-breaking lap to claim Superpole at the Misano WorldSBK round.

The Italian posted his best lap of 1.31.618s on his final run which smashed previous records from previous years.

Alongside Bulega is his championship rival Toprak Razgatlioglu, where both riders once again finished in a world of their own.

Axel Bassani produced an impressive lap to round off the front row for Bimota at its home race due to being based in Rimini.

Sam and Alex Lowes will start side-by-side on the second row alongside GRT Yamaha rider Remy Gardner.

Andrea Iannone qualified seventh, but could change after impeding Danilo Petrucci in qualifying, but both Italians slotted their Ducati’s between Yamaha rider Andrea Locatelli.

Barni Spark Racing’s Yari Montella maintained his strong form to round off the top ten, followed by the departing factory Ducati rider of Alvaro Bautista.

Iker Lecuona and Dominique Aegerter qualified 12th and 13th, respectively, with the second BMW rider of Michael van der Mark 1.4s behind his teammate.

Garett Gerloff finished the Superpole session in 15th place for Kawasaki, occupying the tail end of the points.

Jonathan Rea qualified a disappointing 16th for Yamaha after limited testing time on the Friday, but marginally bettered lap times from Honda’s Xavi Vierge and Bonovo Ducati’s Scott Redding.

Ryan Vickers secured a quicker lap than the Motoxracing Yamaha duo of Bahattin Sofuoglu and new rider Michael Ruben Rinaldi.

Tarran Mackenzie and Zaqhwan Zaidi qualified in the final two places for Petronas Honda.
