Karun Chandhok re-joins Sky Sports’ punditry team for F1 2019

Karun Chandhok will form part of Sky Sports F1’s punditry line-up for the 2019 Formula 1 season, moving across from Channel 4.

The ex-HRT and Lotus driver was part of Sky Sports’ team for three years before switching to terrestrial broadcaster Channel 4.

The United Kingdom’s new TV deal, which runs from 2019 to 2024, means Sky Sports F1 has near-exclusive live coverage of Formula 1.

Channel 4, which previously broadcast half of the Grands Prix live, will only show the British Grand Prix live, with the remaining 20 events to be shown as delayed highlights.

“I'm very excited to be re-joining the Sky Sports F1 team from the 2019 season,” said Chandhok.

“With their long-term commitment to Formula 1 and the team of people that's in place, it's a great time to return.

“I believe that I've been able to develop and offer viewers a unique perspective of someone with a technical, strategic and historical knowledge of the sport combined with the experience of 18 years of driving racing cars.”
