Tito Rabat has parted ways with the Motoxracing Yamaha team after five rounds of the 2025 WorldSBK championship.
Rabat joined the team this campaign alongside Bahattin Sofuoglu as the team entered two riders into the championship for the first time.
However, the Spanish rider and Yamaha have decided to split ways after the Most weekend.
A statement from the team highlighted that results have “failed to materialise” as Rabat has scored just three points this season.
“In agreement with rider Tito Rabat, the Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team announces its decision to rescind its contract with said rider,” read the statement.
“Despite the great efforts of both team and rider, the results have unfortunately failed to materialise.
“Hence, the decision to part ways, to allow both parties to pursue their respective goals.
“The Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team thanks Tito Rabat for his professionalism and wishes him the very best of luck for the future.”
Rabat has taken part in several part-time campaigns in WorldSBK which is why Yamaha signed him as a partner for rookie Sofuoglu.
The team was Rabat’s third in WorldSBK, after Barni Spark Ducati and Puccetti Kawasaki, when they were an Independent squad.
It was also the third different manufacturer for the 2014 Moto2 World Champion.
However, Sofuoglu has out-scored Rabat by nine points to three across the 15 races held this season.
The Turkish rider has scored points on five occasions in comparison to Rabat’s two.
Following the news of the Spaniard’s departure, Sofuoglu paid tribute to his team-mate on social media.
“You were one of my favourite riders from my childhood. I’ll always have respect for you, may the best of everything be yours for the future, Tito.”
