Drivers favour Supersofts for Brazilian Grand Prix

The Supersoft tyre is the compound of choice for Formula 1 drivers for next weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix.

Sole supplier Pirelli has nominated the Supersoft (red), Soft (yellow), Medium (white) tyre compounds in order to handle the demands of the Interlagos circuit.

Each driver is permitted 13 sets of tyres for each weekend, from which they are permitted free choice of the three nominated compounds for 10 of the sets.

With the Drivers' title now wrapped up in Lewis Hamilton's favour, the focus turns to the Constructors' battle between Ferrari and leaders Mercedes.

Kimi Raikkonen is the only driver out of the top six to take eight sets of the red-marked Supersoft tyres, one less than his rivals in favour of one extra set of Mediums and Softs.

Valtteri Bottas opts to take one less of the yellow-marked Soft in order to take two sets of Mediums like his compatriot in Raikkonen.

Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel and both Red Bull drivers in Daniel Ricciardo all head to Brazil with the same amounts of each compound in their arsenal.

The majority of other teams in the midfield have taken similar decisions as the leaders with only McLaren taking a slightly different approach.

Woking-based outfit will run two sets of mediums, four softs and just seven sets of Supersofts each for Fernando Alonso and Stoffel Vandoorne.
