Antonio Felix da Costa maintained BMW i Andretti Motorsport's recent form at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia, topping the timesheets in the third session of Formula E pre-season testing ahead of the start of the 2018/19 campaign this December.

Da Costa, who ended Day One with the third fastest time, set a 1m 16.977s lap to become the first and so far the only driver of the week to duck below a lap time in the 1m 17s.

Reigning Formula E champion Jean-Eric Vergne followed da Costa with the second fastest time for DS Techeetah, 0.421s adrift of the Portuguese driver while recent Mahindra Racing signing Jerome d'Ambrosio completed the top three, 0.033s behind Vergne.

Season Three Formula E champion Lucas di Grassi set the fourth fastest time of the session for Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler while it was a positive session for the Monegasque Venturi Formula E squad, with Felipe Massa ending the session in fifth while Edoardo Mortara was sixth after experiencing technical problems, the pair 0.7s off the pace.

Pascal Wehrlein occupied seventh on the timesheets in the second Mahindra as the former Manor Formula 1 driver gets acquainted with electric power while Jose Maria Lopez followed in eighth for Dragon Racing.

Andre Lotterer was ninth fastest in the second DS Techeetah machine while Daniel Abt completed the top 10, 0.889s adrift of da Costa.

Alexander Sims, who topped both the morning and afternoon session on Day One for BMW, was 11th fastest on the morning of Day Two, 0.899s behind his pacesetting team-mate after setting a 1m 17.876s.

Mitch Evans followed Sims in 12th as the lead Panasonic Jaguar Racing driver, heading HWA Racelab's Stoffel Vandoorne who, in turn, was in front of a 14-15 for NIO Formula E, with both Tom Dillmann and Oliver Turvey over 1.2s off the pace.

Robin Frijns appeared as the highest-placed Envision Virgin Racing diver in 16th while Sam Bird was 19th, with the pair split by Antonio Fuoco who turned his first laps in a Formula E car for Dragon and HWA's Gary Paffett in 17th and 18th.

Nelson Piquet Jr and Sebastien Buemi rounded out the session, with only 21 of the 22 cars at testing running, with a supposed link between Alexander Albon and a seat at Toro Rosso to replace Brendon Hartley reducing Buemi to Nissan e.dams' sole runner
